Performance

The performance of the GA-7ZMM is not ideal.  Sometimes it is faster than the reference board and sometimes it is slower.  Gigabyte still has quite a bit of work to do here.

Price

We were not able to obtain the final price of the GA-7ZMM, but we expect the board to be between 90 and 100 US dollars.  The price can be attractive if you don’t need high-end graphics and audio.

Stability

The GA-7ZMM is average among KM133/KT133 motherboards in terms of stability.  It crashed a total of five times in our 24-hour stress tests.

Quality

Gigabyte is famous for its high quality, and we continue to see that trend on the GA-7ZMM. 

Features

The @BIOS and the EasyTune III are nice features, but they are not enough to overcome what Gigabyte lost in not implementing multiplier ratio settings.  Also the FSB speed choices are not enough.

On the other hand, the expansion slots and optional on-board audio provide a little bit more flexibility.

Layout

Gigabyte does not follow the reference design, and that results in a more stable solution .  Placement of components is decent and reasonable, without any major obstacle.

Availability

The GA-7ZMM is not widely available yet.  Based on past experience, it is relatively easy to find Gigabyte products, although they are not available everywhere.

Documentation & Software Bundle

The manual is about average, providing details on all the connectors and BIOS settings.  It also gives information on installation of software and drivers, but it does not include any information on hardware installation.

The CD contains all the drivers you need for the motherboard, including all the VIA drivers, on-board sound and video drivers and utilities
